We had a very busy weekend trying to get projects done around the house. We've been out of town a lot so it was nice to be able to just stay home and get some things done. M decided it was a good day to try and clean up some of the landscaping around the house and get the lawn and yard ready for winter. We had a big pile of leaves and branches that needed to be burned so M decided to play firefighter for the day and burn them. I was a little nervous to say the least! I don't think he has ever done this before so I was hoping he knew what he was doing! Luckily, the burn went very well and did not come near the house :)
We also used the nice weather to put up the Christmas lights. We normally would not put them up this early, but there is a boy in our community named Dax who has terminal cancer. He is only 2 years old and is not expected to make it until Christmas. So many people in our community are putting up their Christmas lights early for Dax. This story just tears at my heart because his parents are our age. This is the first child and I cannot imagine what they are going through. They have a website dedicated to him that tells more about his story:
