An (Almost) 3 Year Old's Dream

G has been obsessed with fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars lately. If we see them when we are driving, he gets so excited and has to tell us if they have lights or sirens on. He is even going to be a fireman for Halloween this year. Today Daddy had to work, but he took a little time off around lunch to go with us to the Morton Fire Department. They just opened a brand new building and had an open house. All the firemen were there to talk with the kids and all the equiptment was out for them to climb in and see. G was beyond excited and loved getting to sit in the driver's seat and pretend to drive. He wore his fire boots from his Halloween costume and thought he was pretty big stuff. There was a reporter there from the local newspaper who asked to take G's picture. We will be excited to see if he makes it into the paper again (G and I were both in it on Valentine's Day). We went to lunch at Pizza Ranch which is a great place for kids because it is fast and they have a big selection-and it's really yummy! The only thing that could have made the day better would have been if Daddy didn't have to go back to work. Hopefully his hours will slow down soon :)
