A Break-through
We has a big day at the Schreurs' household yesterday. G went poopy on the potty :) Now I know this may not seem like a big deal to a lot of people, but my goodness,I could have cried with excitement! G has been potty trained now since August, but for whatever reason refused to ever go #2 on the potty. So this meant it always ended up in his pants-gross I know! It was so frustrating but the more we seemed to push him, the more he resisted. So at the advice of our pediatrician, we backed off and just let him go in his pants. Yesterday the stars must have been aligned because he decided he wanted to go in the potty. It started with him wanting to go potty all by himself. I said ok because I honestly thought he would be out in 30 seconds asking me to help him with his pants. Next thing I know, I hear him going and he comes out so proud of himself. I praised him and told him how proud I was of him. Then later, after lunch, he says he wants to go poopy on the potty all by himself and he wants "privacy". Well of course I was all for any trying so in he went. I hear him say "I'm pushing now!" (LOL). Then he says "I'm done!" and we had success! All along our motivator for G was that if he went poopy in the potty, we would take him to Chuck E.Cheese. The minute he was done he said "Now I can go to Chuck E.Cheese!" So we called Daddy and told him the great news (along with Grandma and both Grandpa's). Daddy met us out at Chuck E.Cheese and G had a great time celebrating! Now we have two challenges facing us: #1....getting G to do this again and #2.....getting him to realize that we are not going to Chuck E.Cheese every time he does!
