Thanksgiving in Iowa-Part 1

We started our trip back to Iowa on Tuesday after we picked G up from preschool. It was nice that we had some extra time to spend with family and we had a ton of fun.
Wednesday the boys "helped" Grandpa Dean and Daddy with raking outside. It was a nice day outside so it was good to get them some fresh air. Also on Wednesday we had an unexpected change in our plans. My Mom was admitted to the hospital for complications with her gallbladder. So I spent Wednesday night down at the hospital with her. She is scheduled to have it out this Thursday and until that time she continues to eat the only thing that doesn't cause her pain.....Cheerios. She was able to come home on Thanksgiving and enjoy a small amount of turkey :(

Thursday we headed to the Schreurs' Thanksgiving over at M's aunt and uncle's. G always has a great time over there because there are lots of little boys to play with. They have a lot of fun together!

B enjoying some time with Grandpa Mont.

G was beyond excited because Uncle Lee had painted a football field in his back yard for the kids to play on. My parents had gotten him an Iowa State football outfit for part of his birthday present and let's just say-HE LOVED IT!

"The boys"

After football we celebrated G's birthday with some more cake.

It was a great day and a lot of fun. I think I forgot to mention that the weather was in the mid-60's. What a treat!

After all the fun at the Schreurs', we came home and got the boys ready for bed. G was glad to see Grandma Kim home and chose her to read the bedtime story (notice he was still not ready to take the helmet off, it also sat right next to his bed that night!)
