St.Louis-Day 1

The words "spontaneous" and Schreurs don't usually go together. We are planners by nature so I was really surprised when my hubby called and said the reservations had been made and we were leaving for St.Louis the next day. Well.....all right! So we made a few arrangements-mainly finding someone to let out poor Mya (thanks Alison and wonderful neighbors!) and off we went. We left Thursday after lunch and had a nice drive. B slept and G watched movies-from our many car rides back to Iowa we have bred wonderful car riders. Our hotel was right in downtown so it was fun to drive in and see the arch right out our windows. B kept saying,"Wow!" We checked in around 3:00 pm and were just planning on hanging around the hotel for awhile but we decided to be spontaneous again and enjoy the AWESOME weather and head to the zoo for awhile. It was around 67 degrees and it might as well have been the tropics. It was so amazing to be outside and be in the sun without coats!
Here are the boys before we went into the zoo.

Trying my best to keep moving so B stayed happy in the stroller!

Looking at the huge hippo!

Look at me....no stroller!

After the zoo we went to dinner at a restaurant called Calleco's. It was in downtown and had lots of good food. We just really enjoyed spending time together and having some fun. It just felt like spring! After dinner we came back to the hotel and put our suits on and went up to the pool. It wasn't exactly a kids pool. G couldn't really touch past the stairs. We kept close eyes on the kids but G did step off the last step and sunk to the bottom-time to get this kid some swim lessons! Thankfully Daddy was right there to assist.

Cold!!!

                                                                        Double cold!!
