Girls Weekend

First off I have to say that there are no pictures to this post.....sometimes that is just what happens when you are having so much fun! My mom, sister, and I have been planning this little getaway for a while now. The plan was that they would come to Peoria on Friday night and we would leave for shopping on Saturday morning. We left to a chorus of crying boys (Daddy probably included) and got on our way. I was the driver and Jenna was my trusty co-pilot-Mom was in charge of always having our toll money ready :) We went to the outlet malls in Aurora, a suburb of Chicago. We hit the ground running and hit all our favorite stores. The malls were defiantly busy-the Coach store had a line outside the door. We shopped until about 2:30 and then decided to head to our next destination.....Woodfield Mall in Shaumburg, another suburb of Chicago.

We checked into our hotel, took a little rest, and then took the shuttle to Woodfield Mall. Shopping round 2! We had some dinner and finished up at the mall. Our energy was diminishing by this point. We decided a good ending to the day would be the hot tub at the hotel. So after a soak and some chatting we ended our day.

Shopping round 3- We checked out of the hotel and hit Ikea right when it opened. My Mom and Jenn had never been before. It was so hard to describe to them what Ikea is but I just kept saying, "You'll love it!" And of course they did! I love Ikea because you find things you didn't even know you needed, like jewelery hooks for the closet or a bamboo plant-yes I got them :) We also did a last minute stop at Crate and Barrell before we headed home.

I have to say it was an amazing girls' weekend! We managed to get around the busy suburbs of Chicago with just a few wrong turns, and found some awesome bargains! I missed my boys and loved getting home to see them. Daddy did a great job taking care of them. Maybe that means we can do a girls trip again soon!
