Christmas 2012

This is going to be one long post since it will contain most of our Christmas pics so sorry in advance :) We were able to go back to Iowa for 10 days. It has always been so nice that Caterpillar closes during the holiday time, so M doesn't have to use vacation. The result is that we get to spend a lot of time relaxing with family and friends and see people that we don't get to see on a normal weekend home.

Our trip didn't get off to the best start. We ended up in winter driving conditions and heavy traffic. Once we entered into Iowa we were lucky if we got above 15 mph. It was a loooooong car ride and the boys were amazing but we finally threw in the towel and decided to stay the night in Iowa City. We made it a fun adventure and the boys were excited to stay in a hotel. It was also very exciting for our dog Mya, as it was her first time staying in a hotel. I'm not so sure she loved it:) We finally made it back to Des Moines the next day and were greeted with friendly faces and hugs.

We spent Christmas Eve day with Grandpa Mont and Grandma Norma. We took our time opening presents and had a nice lunch that Grandma Norma made.
Opening up a new guitar.

One for B too!

Rockstars........

He was not at all excited about the legos!

Christmas Eve we went to church with my parents. We like to take a picture as a family because it's not so often that everyone is dressed up and looking their finest:)

After church we came home and had some supper and got the boys into their Christmas jammies. We did the typical Christmas Eve duties which included writing a letter to Santa, leaving out the cookies, and sprinkling the magic reindeer food outside.

Christmas morning we woke bright and early! Aunt Jenna and Uncle Justin were over early to witness the boys opening their gifts from Santa. G was excited to receive a new Spider Man costume and a Hot Wheels track. B got a new scooter and a Jake and the Neverland Pirates ship.

During the time we were home we also attended 3 other family Christmases and celebrated my Mom's birthday as well as my 30th birthday......yes 3-0 yikes!

This is what our car looked like on the way home!
