G was beyond excited about the gift that the Easter Bunny brought him. He has been so wanting this Lego police station. Here is a little background story: after Valentine's Day G had about $30 to spend from losing teeth as well as money from Grandma and Grandpa for in their Valentine's. The money was burning a hole in his pocket so we took him to Toys R Us to spend his money. The only thing he kept talking about was how he was going to buy this Lego police station. I had never seen it before so had no idea what it cost. When we got there we went right to the Lego aisle and he said "There it is!" He was in total love. I knew it was never going to happen when I saw the security tag on the Lego box. It was WAY more than $30. So I had to break the news to him that he did not have enough money to buy it. He did so well with it and just said ok and moved on to find something he could afford. I think it was the way he reacted so well to the disappointment as well as him holding his little wallet with his precious money in it that just warmed my heart. That is why it was so great to see him so excited about this.
Legos are something that both Daddy and G love to do together. They take their time and work together. It is really neat to see them complete each project. This one was their biggest project yet. It had over 760 pieces! Needless to say it took quite a few nights of working to complete it.
Look at all those bags of Legos!
And finally tonight they finished it! G LOVES it and is very protective of it. He doesn't really like when a certain 2 year old brother comes near it :)
Here is the finished police station with all of the other police Lego sets he has.
Two proud guys!
