Oh Boy!

Growing up with only a sister, sometimes I think it is ironic that I only have boys. My life went from playing with barbies, sharing clothes with my sister and doing each others hair to firetrucks, trains, poop, oh and did I mention firetrucks?

I now have a 3 year old that went from my sweet baby to a big boy. I am not sure when that happened. Every day, I just crack up because I truly never know what is going to come out of his mouth. Like a few weeks ago when we went to drop off the van for an oil change. I had just gotten both boys out of the car and the woman at the dealership took my name and asked what I was there for. Before I could answer G pipes up and says, "I went poopy in the potty and it was two big poopies!" My thoughts were a combination of sheer embarrassment as well as pride. I mean he is finally pooping in the potty so who am I to discourage his excitement. But did she really need to know the size? Today he totally cracked us up at dinner because Daddy had asked him what he did today. He said he had school and then he perked up and said "And we got a $5 footlong!" I think that means he has seen that commercial way too many times!

And then I have my little B who is growing so fast! He is starting to enjoy eating baby food which is awesome because he really fought it. I am also trying to get him started on some early solid foods like the fruit puffs. He is not really fond of those yet and tends to do a lot of gagging. He is getting up on all fours and rocking but no crawling yet. He loves to play with G's toys and I can already see the battles we will face when he starts taking things from his big brothers. He is sleeping through the night on most nights (not all yet). He has started a funny little laugh where he does a snorting sound and squints his eyes. He seems to be a bit more reserved than his brother and tends to want mommy when around strangers. That's ok with me though-I want to snuggle him as long as possible!

I guess today was just one of those days that as I took G to school and both boys to the library, I realized how fast they were growing up and how much fun I have watching them grow and change.....even if it does involve poop and trucks and all the other boy things!
