G is very lucky to have two very handy grandpas! This past weekend when we went home my dad gave G this beautiful toy box! It has taken him quite a while to get going on this project since he is such a busy guy, but he finally got it done and we could not believe how good it turned out. It was better than I ever could have imagined it! I had given him an idea of what we wanted, and of course he just ran with it and made it even bigger and better. It has many "kid friendly" features including a latch system that lets the lid come down slowly so it could never slam G's fingers. He also added a very special touch that G thinks is awesome. He put a shelf right on the inside for G to put his small cars on. This way, they won't get lost down at the bottom. He seriously thought of everything! Thanks Grandpa Dean!
This shows the shelf where G can put all his small cars.
Grandpa LaMont is also very handy. Every year he carves these beautiful santas. I have seen the block of wood that he starts from and I have no idea how he ends up with something so detailed! He has a new design each year so we have quite the collection. I got my first santa the first or second year that M and I were dating. I have gotten a new one every year since. I think our collection is up to 14 santas now. When G was born, he started making special ones just for G. If you look at the picture close, you can see G's first santa in the middle holding the teddy bear. It is so special to have these hand-made things that our fathers have made for us.
Holy Cow!! The toy box is beautiful and the Santas are amazing too! Very cool!
