We've been busy this weekend! Friday night we went to cheer on our local high school's basketball team-the Washington Panthers. My good friend Mandy's husband is the assistant coach and G thinks he is pretty cool! Both boys were excited to give him a high five as the team ran out :) The Panthers won pretty easily and the boys enjoyed sitting and having some treats (popcorn, Gatorade, and Skittles). We will have to try and catch another game before their season is over.
(M took this picture....must be why it is blurry!)
G and his good friend Charlie......Go Panthers!
Saturday we spent the afternoon running errands and getting some last minute things for our trip to Punta Cana. We are down to 6 days before we leave so we are getting excited! We will leave Friday afternoon to drive the boys back to Iowa to stay with the grandparents and then M and I fly out very early Saturday for the tropics!
Part of our preparations is also getting the kids ready for their "vacation" in Iowa. I have no doubt they will be in great hands and will be spoiled rotten, but it's hard to know how they will react to us being gone for a week. They are used to Daddy being gone on trips for work, but it has been quite awhile since I have been away from them. So I have come up with a few things that I am hoping will make their week go a little smoother-or make me feel better......G and I made a paper chain with all the days we will be gone. He even wrote the names of each day and did a great job with the letters! I also got each boy a little gift to open each day.
