Adventureland

A few weeks ago when we were back in Iowa, we made a trip to an amusement park right outside of Des Moines called Adventureland. We have taken G before but this was the first year we felt like B would be able to enjoy/handle it since it meant he would probably miss a nap. My mom's company was having their picnic there which meant we had free parking, admission, and lunch-SCORE! typically when you go to Adventureland at the end of July you are dealing with 90 degree days that make walking around and waiting in lines somewhat miserable. Not this time, it was barely 70 degrees....we all wore sweatshirts-what?! Oh well, no complaints here!

We started off the day on the train, good way to start as it goes around the park so you can gauge where everything is.I love G's enthusiasm in this pic-he was pumped!

B wanted to sit by Grandma Kim.

Mommy accompanied the boys on the carousel.

This is one of the favorite rides of the day, "the Frog Hopper".

Guess he decided he still needed that nap :)

We had such a fun time! We have yet to find a ride that scares G. He will go on anything and does it laughing and smiling the whole time! He went quite often with Daddy and Uncle Justin on the big boy rides and loved every minute of it. They even wanted to take him on some of the big roller coasters but Mommy put a cabosh on that reminding everyone that he is only 5! There is plenty of time for that when he is older! We loved it that at 7 months pregnant Aunt Jenna walked around like a trooper all over the park. We all got a bit of a chuckle that the one ride she did actually ride (the sky ride) they stopped the whole ride for her to get off. She was quite embarrassed and insisted she could have gotten off quickly on her own but I guess Adventureland lives by the "safety first" motto. All in all an awesome day, the boys are already asking when we get to go back.
