I'm a few weeks behind but we celebrated M's birthday at the end of August. Unfortunately he didn't have the greatest birthday. He had the chicken pox.....yes that's right the chicken pox! He had never had them as a child and assumed he probably would never get them since the disease isn't really around anymore. Well lucky him he got to experience them just like most of us did as children. He spent a week working from home and not going out in public since he was contagious. I know there are a lot of horror stories about how bad they can be in adults so overall he was really lucky. The itching wasn't too bad and he didn't have a lot of pain. So now he can add the chicken pox to his "been there, done that" list :)
On the day of his birthday my Dad actually was in town for business so he stopped by and dropped off M's birthday gift, a new side walk edger. M has been wanting one of these for a long time to "bring his lawn to the next level"!
The boys were so excited to see Grandpa Dean on a weekday. We enjoyed pizza, cake, and a game of baseball outside while he was here.
Hopefully next year M will have a more enjoyable birthday but I think we made the best of the situation :)
