First Day of Kindergarten

Well today was the day G has been looking forward to and Mommy has been dreading all summer-the first day of kindergarten! It is amazing how this life event has brought me such a range of emotions-happiness, excitement, sadness, dread......I am so excited for G because he is ready for this and will do great. But I am also sad because I see him growing up so fast! It is hard for me to think of him being at school all day under the care of someone else when I have been home with him since he was a baby. I realize it is time to let go but man is it hard at times! Enough with the emotional goo! Our festivities started off last night with "Meet the Teacher"

G's teacher is Mrs.Hudson. She seems really nice and warm to the children. She has substitute taught in the building last year and this year is full time. She has 4 kids of her own-her youngest is in kindergarten also.

Sitting at his table, his seat is front and center! I think I like that:)

He was excited to find his locker and told us where he was going to put everything.

The morning of the first day Mommy made the boys favorite breakfast-pancakes!

Of course little brother wanted to get in on some pictures too!

Here is his school which is located very close to our house.

The kids all sat in a line in the gym until it was time to go to their classrooms. Mommy held it together pretty well until it was time to say our last goodbyes. A few tears were shed!

But the good news is I will get to be spending some one on one time with this little angel :)

All in all it was a very successful first day. G had a great time and I think I held it together pretty well. Daddy even got to come to school to drop him off for the first time which was special. He is looking forward to going back tomorrow which will be the first day they get to eat lunch!
