Hello from Australia!We have been in country for about 3 weeks now. When i think back to our flight over it seems like a lifetime ago that we landed. I am guessing that is because we have done and been through so much in just the three short weeks. We've had our ups and downs, there are a whole lot of emotions that we have experienced. I want to document it all and get up to date so I will start back to the day we left Iowa for our flight to Australia.
We left the Des Moines airport with a total of 12 suitcases, 4 carry on bags, 2 backpacks, a car seat, a purse, and 2 kids. It was borderline unmanageable, and the scene of us pushing 3 trolley carts through the Sydney airport with people every where, suitcases falling.....its not one that I would like to re-live!
We did our best to keep everyone occupied.
There was a lot more electronic time allowed but sometimes it is worth it!
Nothing like waiting till the flight over to study up!
This was on the big flight over, getting ready to leave Dallas at 10pm.
The boys were invited to meet the pilots and see the cockpit. We left middle of the week so the boys were pretty much the only children on the plane surrounded by a whole lot of business travelers!
Our airplane, the biggest plane I have ever seen. It had two levels and we were up on the top deck.
Can you tell we were tired? After a 2 hour flight to Dallas, a 6 hour layover, a 16 hour flight to Sydney, and last but not least a 2 hour flight to Brisbane, we were over it! Tired, hungry, and needing of a shower!
